Healthy, Happy Mornings

Good morning, friends! I am excited to be here today with a blog that brings my heart joy. Over the last year, I have experienced some situations that have not been the best to say the least. I feel like when bad things happen, you have one of two choices and that’s either to stay down or get back up and keep going. While I think we all have our little moments of feeling down, I think it is important to remember that we can’t stay in the spot forever and expect to grow. I have grown in so many ways within the last year, but I can honestly say that some of the biggest changes I have been making over the past couple years have been lifestyle changes to make myself feel healthier and in return, be healthier. I am here today to share some of my favorite morning routines that help me start the day out with a clear intention.

Read a devotion & pray. This is the most important start to my morning. Thanking God that I am here another day is something I feel is so important because each day we are alive is a gift to be thankful for. I also love to read the Proverbs 31 Ministries devotions because they are always full of wisdom.

Get movement in. I know waking up early to work out is not the easiest thing. I get it, I’m a mom and I work full-time, so if I want to work out, it’s either get up early or stay up late after my son goes to bed. One thing I can offer to help encourage you is that the more you wake up early and work out, the easier it becomes. It becomes so much a part of your routine that you actually can’t go without it. If I have a day where I feel absolutely exhausted, I don’t push myself, but the more you get movement in, the more energy you will have when it comes to your day. Some of my favorite early morning workouts are cardio, pilates, and yoga.

Drink water. I know a lot of people rely on their coffee to get them through the morning and don’t get me wrong, I am a lover for all fun drinks, but a while back my brother told me how he stopped drinking coffee and started his mornings out with a lot of water and let me tell you—it sucks big time at first, but after getting into a routine, your body will feel so much better when you wake up and drink water. It will improve the way you feel big time.

Self-care. Obviously, we have our normal mornings before work, like taking a shower and what not, but I make it a point to spend time taking care of my skin. Skin is the largest organ on our body, and I put an emphasis on my daily skin care routines to make sure my skin stays healthy and protected for a long time.

Nourish my body. I used to be the type that was a quick on the go breakfast person, but as I have aged, I have realized the importance of starting my day with a healthy breakfast to fuel my body. Whether it’s a smoothie, fruit, etc.

Dress it up. This might seem like a dumb thing to include in here but dressing to make yourself feel like a boss for the day is extremely important. It makes you feel good, which always set us up for a great day.

Overall, our morning routines can all look so different, but the main point of this blog is to encourage you to make time for yourself in the morning. I know it’s not always easy, but it is important to prioritize your health and wellness and even making small changes to give yourself extra time in the morning will make you feel good. I hope you all have a great Monday, and I would love to hear in the comments what your favorite part of your morning routine is.

Xoxo, Bri

  1. Love your blog. We can all use more hope and encouragement. I definitely need to do more to make myself healthier and to thank God for every day that I am here.
