DIY Jean Shorts

Happy Sunday!! I am very excited to be back with a blog for you all today! To everyone who reads my blogs, thank you so much! Life has been so crazy busy lately in more ways than one! I hate not being able to post blogs more often lately, but if you are a follower of this blog, thank you again for your support and more posts will be coming soon! I wanted to share a light, fun read for today. I do not have many pair of shorts right now that I actually like to wear, and we are in full force shorts weather. For those of you who do not know me on a personal level, I love thrift shopping! It is so fun to find unique pieces at thrift stores that you would not find in other stores, and let’s face it, you can’t beat the prices either! For today’s blog, I decided to show you guys a little tutorial on how to take an old pair of jeans and turn them into your dream shorts!

Step 1: Find a pair of jeans you don’t mind cutting up. I bought these jeans a few years ago at a local thrift store. They are Levi’s and I bought them for only $2.00.

Step 2: Put the jeans on to get a feel of where you would like the length of your shorts to fall. I recommend marking the length with a marker, so that way you are sure on the length. You could always go back in and take more off, but I always recommend starting a little longer.

Step 3: Take your jeans off and cut straight across one pant leg where you marked off with the marker.

Step 4: To cut the other side at an even length, fold the jeans in half and use the side you previously cut as the guide.

Step 5: Try on and make sure you are happy with the length. If not, make some adjustments. If you are happy with the length, you could totally stop here, but I like to have more of a distressed look to the bottom of my jeans. To fray the ends out a bit, take your scissors with them open and run one side of the blade across the bottom of the pants. It will slowly start to fray, and you can even use your fingers or tweezers to pull more of the ends out once you fray it a bit with scissors.

The end result is a cute pair of shorts that you made for a few bucks! If you are in a crafty mood, grab a pair of old jeans and get creative as you want. I have a few more DIY projects coming to the blog soon! My sister and I have also been working on a really amazing side project that I will link below because we are so close to launching!

Love you guys who read and support my blogs so much!

Xoxo, Bri
