Hello all of my beautiful friends! Happy summer to you! Now that we are in the middle of summer, I thought that I would share my drugstore beauty must haves that help me to create a very simple makeup look, while keeping me feeling fresh and clean for the hot summer weather. It also helps that the products that I am mentioning in today’s post are known to be some great dupes for some high-end products and let’s face it, we are all trying to save money as much as we can! So without babbling on too much, let’s jump right in.
I always like to start out any look with a clean base. I usually just use a really simple cleanser that is gentle for the skin and Cetaphil is very cost friendly for a mild cleanser. I tend to break out very easily and have very sensitive skin and this works great for me.
My skin gets very oily and can tends to look greasy, especially after I have spent a long day in the sun. This L’OREAL Infallible Pro-Matte foundation is a great option to help keep a matte appearance, while also providing a great medium to full coverage base depending on how much you apply. This foundation is known to be a pretty similar formula to the NARS foundation and is only around $10.00 and lasts for quite a long time. If your skin tends to be more dry and you are looking for an option to brighten up your skin a little bit, they also have a pro-glow formula to help give that more dewy look. This is a must try for summer, especially since they have options for all looks and skin types.The older I have gotten, the more important it has become for me to look a little more bronzed but not baking my skin in the sun to achieve that tan look. This bronzer by L’OREAL has become my favorite and this will be a staple product that I use year round. The size of the product is amazing. It is huge and I have already been using it for months and I have hardly even made a dent in it. If you like a bronzer that gives you a matte finish with just a little bit of shine then this product is for you!You have probably caught on by now that L’OREAL has become my favorite drugstore brand. If you watch any beauty blogger, you have probably heard of the NARS orgasm blush. It seems to be a staple for many beauty gurus and even though I have never personally used it, I have heard that this blush gives off a comparable look. I am totally into all the L’OREAL bronzers and blushes this year because it gives you a true summer tan/sun-kissed look. This blush even has a little shimmer to it to help give off an appearance that you may have applied a light highlighter to the top of it. Just apply this on the cheeks or the tip of the nose for that effortless sun-kissed look!In the summer I usually do not use a ton of eye shadow, but for a quick summer golden glow to the eyes, I use this bellapiere liquid shadow in the shade “venus”. I actually received this shade in my Ipsy bag. This product is awesome because it stays on very well and does not crease in the summer heat. Just applying this on your lid and rubbing it in with your fingers makes it look like you spent a whole lot of time on your eyes when in reality it takes seconds. If you have heard of the Stila shadows, these brands are way cheaper and complete the job just as well.I have had a few drugstore faves when it comes to mascara but after finding the Voluminous Lash Paradise, I don’t think that I will be able to find something better than this. This mascara gives my lashes so much length and volume. This brand is very comparable to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. So if you want some awesome volume on those lashes for a great price, check this out.These NYX Liquid Suede lip products are freaking amazing! They are well known to be comparable to Kat Von D’s lip products. This specific color glides right on like a gloss but the finish is matte. I love the shade “sandstorm”. It looks a lot darker in this picture but in real life, it gives off a really pretty nude color. NYX lip products are some of my favorite and you seriously can’t beat the price.
These are my top drugstore products that I use on a daily basis. Not only will these products save you some money but they actually work really well! One of my other biggest hints that will help save you some money over time is to buy these products from your local Ulta. Although you can buy drugstore products from anywhere, if you sign up at Ulta for their rewards program, every time you buy something, it will slowly give you some points and you can eventually redeem them and get some of your products for free!! It may take a while to save up, but anywhere you can get some points to help save you that extra cash, it is worth it!
