Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! As you can tell from the title of this blog, we are talking about the most basic season of them all— fall! We have now entered sweater weather, pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin’ carving, haunted house going season. This past weekend, my husband and I had a date day to a local fruit farm and craft show and it got me to thinking that fall is one of those seasons that offers a variety of activities that people can enjoy. Of course we all enjoy getting out and doing stuff, but getting to do that stuff for a cheap price is even better! So today’s topic will be a list complied of fun activities that won’t break the bank!
One of the first things I would recommend is visiting a fruit farm if you have one near your home. We are lucky to have one near our house and this can be a completely free trip if you want it to be! There was a sunflower field at our farm and it was free to walk around and look at or you could pay a $1.00 per sunflower that you cut down. This was a perfect way to get out and about on a beautiful fall day without spending a ton of money. Plus, visiting the fruit farms are a great way to enjoy some of the yummy fall fruits like crispy apples.
The next suggestion would be to visit a pumpkin patch. Would it even be fall if we didn’t mention some form of a pumpkin activity, particularly carving a pumpkin? This is a great family activity or would even be a great girls night gathering with some wine. You can keep this activity free if you want by just visiting the patch to get some great family pictures or you could spend a little by picking out a pumpkin at a local store for a good price and get to creating and carving.
My next suggestion would be get to decorating your house to give it a cozy, fall vibe. There are a few ways to save some money on decorating. Instead of buying everything when it is in season, head to places like Target and grab your fave decor after the holiday when everything goes on sale for up to 50-75% off and start a good stash of decorations for the next year! There are also plenty of ways to make decor at home with items you may already have laying around the house! (Stay tuned for some of my cheap, holiday craft blogs).
Enjoy a cozy night in by lighting some fall candles, sitting by the fire place, turning on a classic Halloween movie, and sipping on some hot chocolate, coffee, or hot apple cider. My favorite coffee combo for the fall is cinnamon sugar cookie with a pumpkin creamer– if you want the most yummy coffee, this is a must try!
Host a bonfire in your backyard and set up a waffle bar or a caramel apple bar. This is a yummy treat where you can set up waffles and apples, with all kinds of toppings for a create your own sweet treat! If you want to see how I made the waffles above, check out my latest blog!
The last idea is to take a drive out in the country to look at the beautiful colors God has created for this beautiful season in the sky and on the beautiful trees or get out and take a walk through your neighborhood or local park. Nature is free and surrounds us everywhere– so get out there and enjoy it.
I hope you all enjoyed reading this blog! All of these fall-tastic ideas are very cost friendly and are a great way to experience the season. I think I just might have to do a part two of this blog because there are a ton more ideas that popped to my head when I started writing this blog.
